Since I was a very young kid, my favourite super hero was always Spider-Man. Not just because of how strong he was, or how he moved like no one else. It wasn’t even because he had the coolest costume ever either. It was that he was like me. Like us.

Do I like Spider-Man? Nope.

Into the Spiderverse – Trailer

My son and I saw this one in the theatre a couple of years ago. This weekend, we revisited it again. This time, we pulled in my wife and daughter. The whole family loved it. How could you not? It was funny, exciting and imaginative.

I was on the fence about Miles Morales when the transition happened in the comics. How dare someone mess with my childhood vision of my friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. This movie changed that that opinion. Redefined it. What a risk. What a pay-off.

In terms of movies that have remained tied to the comics, this one is closest to the pin. Look at the printing texture and colour that was added. This isn’t a movie. It’s an animated comic book.
